Restricted Licence Management and Compliance
Applying for a Restricted Operator Licence is a simpler process than that for a Standard National or International Licence, as for one thing there is no requirement for a transport manager. However, you will require a responsible person and you will need to achieve similar levels of compliance as companies running National and International Operator Licences.
The demonstration of understanding your obligations and the undertakings agreed when you apply for and are granted your licence are critical.
If you are subject to a site visit by DVSA Enforcement Officers, you will be expected to show compliance and understanding of your obligations as well as be able to demonstrate the procedures and systems you have in place are thorough and robust. They can therefore not be taken lightly.
It is very often the case that the vehicle operation side of an ‘own account’ business will take a back seat as your main focus will be the daily stresses and challenges of your core business. Your vehicle fleet, big or small, will be seen to be a necessary evil and not given the equal focus. At Transolva Ltd. we can offer you a tailored management plan as we do for a number of similar businesses that we currently advise. We would look at your fleet size and utilisation and put forward what in our opinion would be the level of input required in order to help you be and stay compliant. This can range from regular visits to your individual operations and 6 or 12 monthly audits.
We would offer, for a Guaranteed Fixed Price, a management plan which would offer the peace of mind that your transport operation is being managed effectively, with compliance being the main objective.
